The
tree takes 100 years to grow. Then it needs to get a cancer.
I then spend several hours looking for its telltale sign of
a spherical growth. Amputation is the recommended treatment.
A return journey and some more cosmetic surgery before it is
fit for its interim trimming. Now it will need 4-6 months of
coming to terms with its desication. Then more sawdust production,
refining the cosmic shape, and polishing its details. Eventually
it leaves the surgical theatre (the lathe) and moves to its
cosmetic environment. 8 different grades of sandpaper help illuminate
its finest features. Oil, sand, clean , oil; then oil, sand
clean, oil, then…
